Market Rasen Racecourse

This course features a right-handed oval with a circumference of 1.25 miles. Traditionally, the Market Rasen racecourse hosted National hunts, but the course now hosts year-round horse racing competitions. Some of the major races held here include the Totesport Summer plate, the Prelude Handicap hurdle, the Totesport Summer hurdle, and the Prelude Handicap Steeple Chase. The most notable race is the Summer Plate meeting held on the third Saturday in July. The race comprises the eponymous Summer Plate and the 2.25 miles Summer Hurdle and a 2.75-mile chase; they are the most critical National Hunt races in Britain held during summer months. While there is a left-handed track for point-to-point racing, it has not been active for a long time.
